[Start Working] The Global Leading Liner Company’s Scrubber Retrofitting Project Starts in Huarun Dadong

On the morning of December 17th, the steel-cutting ceremony of the Hapag-LIoyd C-Class scrubber retrofitting project was held in the fabrication workshop of Huarun Dadong. Mr. Gao Hong, the representative of the shipowner, pressed the button of plasma cutting machine. Mr. Liu Zhiyong, director of HRDD, Mr. Li Gang, deputy commercial director, and leaders of related departments and workshops attended the ceremony.

Hapag-LIoyd is the leading liner shipping company in the world, with 234 modern ships, transporting 12 million TEU per year, 388 offices in 129 countries, and more than 130,000 employees.

In recent years, HRDD has accumulated rich practical experience in scrubber retrofitting projects. The speed of HRDD’s retrofitting is fast and the quality of construction is excellent, hence, the reputation of HRDD is good among customers. Therefore, HRDD has won 7 Hapag-LIoyd C-Class containers contracts for the sister ships’ scrubber retrofitting projects.

Anglo-Eastern (Germany) is responsible for the process of the project. Each converted ship has two scrubbers, one is the main tower, the dimension is 7833X16658X16571, and the weight is 179.15 tons. The other is auxiliary tower, the dimension is 6318X8970X11940 and the weight is 59.46 tons. The dimension of the ship is 300 meters in length, 48 meters in width, and a gross tonnage of 93,685 tons.

According to information, the delivery date of the last ship of these projects is expected to be at the end of April 2022.
